Southwood Village 1, completed in 2023, serves as the culmination of 17 years of dreams and collaborative planning with Southwood residents, Habitat staff and advisors, and Albemarle County. Southwood is a resident-led redeveloped community and a national model in trailer park transformation. Today Village 1 is an inclusive, mixed-income neighborhood made up of Southwood families and newer homeowners. The community features a variety of housing types with nearby parks, commercial centers, and commercial resources.
